About our school

Yanderra Public School statement of purpose promotes the ideal of a "family school", encouraging strong family relationships and values.

We endeavour to provide a secure and stimulating environment for personal growth, where a rich and varied curriculum is presented which enables all students to strive for high academic achievement. The school encourages an attitude of independence and self-reliance, preparing students for their journey through secondary education and beyond. We are committed to maintaining and protecting the unique character of our school and its environment, and maintain and improve the school's management procedures implemented by the Department of Education and Training.

Office

Welcome to our school, our experienced staff look forward to assisting you and your children.

Office hours

Yanderra School office is open from 8.30 am till 3.30 pm. Please avoid contacting the office outside these hours. For your convenience, messages can also be emailed to the school, yanderra-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

Message to students

The office can give urgent messages to students. Please ensure messages are given to the office no later than 2.45 pm as this allows staff to get the message to the child before 3.15 pm.

First-aid and medication

Basic first-aid is administered at school. If there is any major injury you will be contacted and/or an ambulance will be called.

For short-term medication needs, like antibiotics or pain relief for your child, please fill out the necessary form available at the school office. This ensures that the medication is administered appropriately by the school office.

Permission notes

Please hand all excursion notes and money in an envelope or zip lock bag into the school office. No envelopes are to be handed to the teacher. Absent notes are to be given to the class teacher or can be submitted by the School Bytes parent portal.

Newsletter

The school newsletter is published every fortnight and delivered to the eldest child in each family. If you require more copies they are available from the school office or can be viewed on the school website. Alternatively, we can email the newsletter to you. If, for any reason, you do not receive the newsletter, please see your class teacher.

Lost property

Any lost property will be kept in the classroom, please check with your classroom teacher.

Canteen

Our canteen is open on Fridays. Click here to view the menu. Birthday ice block buckets are available to be ordered during the week at the front office.
